FEAApps

FEAApps provide bespoke engineering simulations of structural components using a computer simulation method known as Finite Element Analysis (FEA). This approach produces detailed knowledge of the structural response of a component to applied external forces, displacements and thermal loadings. The method predicts important performance characteristics such as stress levels, stress concentrations, thermal expansion and deformations. This knowledge is then used to optimise the geometry of the structural related products by making them lighter and stronger leading to reduced material usage and a longer product lifetime.

For example, the design of cars relies heavily on these simulation techniques to increase passenger protection in the event of a collision. The design of large structures, such as pressure vessels, requires analysis of potential earthquake scenarios in order to ensure safety of the structure in the event of this occurring. Critical components in large assemblies that undergo frequent loading require advanced fatigue analysis to ensure that they do not causing catastrophic failure during their use.
